ICTI CARE Foundation President & CEO Christian Ewert Departs; Search for Replacement to Begin
21 May 2014
The ICTI CARE Foundation, the International Council of Toy Industriesí (ICTI) program to promote ethical manufacturing, fair labor treatment, and employee health and safety in the worldwide toy and juvenile products supply chain, has announced the departure of its President and CEO, Christian Ewert, after ten years of leadership.
Mr. Ewert has accepted an offer to lead a European trade association.
Over the past decade, the ICTI CARE Process has evolved from an initiative to a well-established, internationally recognized standard that not only has created a compliance auditing organization, but has also become a leader in worker education and training.
"We started with an idea that has grown substantially over the past ten years under Christian's guidance. Working with the national toy associations, brands, retailers and licensors, he has been instrumental in building the ICTI CARE Process to its present position," said Alan Hassenfeld, Co-Chair of the ICTI CARE Foundation.
Mr. Ewert will wrap-up his tenure with ICTI CARE at the end of August and take up his new position at the beginning of September.
A search for a new CEO will soon be underway. Frank Clarke, from Strategy XXI Partners and the ICTI CARE Foundation Secretariat, will serve as Acting Managing Director until a new CEO comes on board.
