China Toy Association Launches Campaign to Promote Safety of Toys

29 March 2013

Nearly 100 companies and brands have joined the China Toy and Juvenile Products Association’s (CTJPA) new “Campaign on Toys and Juvenile Products Safety to Media and Consumers."

Mattel, LEGO, Hape, Vtech, Beleduc, COMBI, and Britax are among the companies that have pledged to promote the long-standing safety and quality of products produced in China.

In turn, CTJPA has said that it will help to publicize the participating companies and brands to media and consumers. The Association will also assist Chinese government authorities with market surveillance and intellectual property protection efforts in the interest of preserving the reputation of the toy industry for producing safe toys that comply with strict regulations and standards, both in China and globally.

Sponsored by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration for Industry & Commerce, and other related Chinese authorities, the campaign launched at a 29 March press conference in Beijing. Additional information, as well as a full listing of the first companies and brands to pledge their commitment, can be found on the CTJPA website.
