CTA Hot Toys Event Brings Together Media, Kids to Test Projected Bestselling Toys for Holiday ’15
6 November 2015
The Canadian Toy Association (CTA) celebrated the start of the holiday season on November 3rd with its 13th Annual Hot Toys for the Holidays media event held in Toronto, Canada. Kids, parents and members of the press were on-hand to test and play with 60 toys and games from CTA and Toy Industry Association (TIA) members.
From classics and collectibles to hot licenses and STEAM toys, the playthings showcased at the event are expected to be hot-sellers in Canada during the 2015 holiday shopping season. [Click to view the full list of showcased toys]
“With toys that flew, rolled, talked and entertained, our Hot Toys event featured a wide range of toys that are sure to top kids’ holiday wish lists,” said Danielle Russell, CTA senior association manager. “The festive atmosphere was abuzz with action and the sounds of children playing, while national and local media outlets stopped by to report on our industry’s most innovative and creative playthings.”
In keeping with the giving spirit of the holidays, each participating company generously donated product to Toys for the North, a joint philanthropic effort of CTA, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and Thompson Terminals transportation. Toys for the North will deliver thousands of toys to Canada’s most isolated and impoverished northern communities in time for the holiday season. CTA extends its heartfelt thanks to its major toy donors for this cause: Bandai, Crayola, Hasbro, and The Orb Factory.
